Strandzhazelnik won the culinary contest „Talk to your grandmother”

30 people participated in the contest for the most delicious grandma`s recipe that Association BIO NETWORK organized for the inhabitants of Burgas region. The aim of the contest „Talk to your grandmother” was to gather local recipes for delicious dishes, carrying the traditions and the tastes of the past.

The participants, who were supposed to come from Bourgas region, showed excellent culinary knowledge and taste in the selection of recipes from the grandma`s  notebook, typical for their settlements. In addition to the recipes, the tempted from the traditional Bulgarian cuisine provided their photo.

The prizes won 4 female participants, the first won the jury with a recipe for StrandzhaZelnik. It was sent by Ms. ZhivkaSimeonova from MalkoTarnovo. The second place is for Rafaela Hristova from Burgas, which impressed with a recipe for Fried Black Sea Saffron. ValkanaLefterova‘s interesting proposal from Kozichino village for Krushen Bulgur won her the third place. The fourth prize will be for Samira Dusheva from Burgas for Mussels with rice.

The four ladies will receive their awards on October 7^th in Pomorie.

The recipes of all participants in the contest “Talk to Your Grandmother” will be included in a culinary book, containing traditional recipes from Burgas and Edirne region in Turkey.

The contest is part of the implementation of the project “Culinary Neighborhood Network” of BIONETWORK in cooperation with the Tradesmen Chamber of Keshan Restaurants Cafes and Hotels, financed through the INTERREG-IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Bulgaria-Turkey Programme.

Under the project trainings /seminars/ for the sustainable development of tourism and culinary festivals in Keshanand Pomorie will also be organized.
